Meet your Teachers
Angie Lichtenwalner is a native Lehigh Valley dancer, educator, and choreographer. She fine-tuned her technique in a variety of genres at Dolly Haltzman Dance Academy/Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT). After discovering her passion for teaching, she earned degrees in Dance Education from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia (BFA with honors) and New York University’s Steinhardt School (MA/NYS Certification PreK-12 Dance).
For five years, Angie developed and implemented a comprehensive, creative dance curriculum for a public K-8 school in the Bronx, NY. She was honored to have this work featured in the February 2010 edition of Dance Teacher Magazine. While living in NYC, she also taught for the PeriChild program at the Peridance Capezio Center and spent time abroad, teaching in both Uganda and Guatemala. Angie has performed professionally with companies including TAPFUSION, isadoraNOW, Illuminations Dance Company, and Deborah Damast and Dancers. Angie has taught throughout the Lehigh Valley for The JCC of Allentown, The Swain School, and outreach programs for RDT at Lincoln Leadership Academy and ASD Schools including Washington, Cleveland, Mosser, Sheridan, and South Mountain. She has presented various integrated programs at Allentown’s CITY ARTS Camp and also at Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead (a science, technology, engineering, art, and music camp), in southwest Florida. Angie has also worked with Camp R.H.Y.T.H.M.O. choreographing junior productions of the musicals Annie & Aladdin. When she’s not dancing, Angie enjoys spending time with her family and dog, Lucy. She can’t wait for another fantastic year and is so excited to meet all of the new dance artists of AAECS! Photos: Josh Lichtenwalner, Hub Willson, Chianan Yen, Pyeunghun Baik
